Founded in August 2025, CYP Palm Harbor is a vibrant community for Young Jewish Professionals serving North Pinellas County. Our mission is to create meaningful connections, personal growth, and a sense of belonging for Jewish adults in their 20s and 30s.
Through social gatherings, holiday celebrations, networking mixers, and inspiring Shabbat experiences, CYP Palm Harbor blends fun, friendship, and Jewish soul. We also offer opportunities for personal and professional development, Jewish learning, and community service, empowering young professionals to grow both personally and spiritually.

Hi! We’re Rabbi Yehoshua and Shayna Cohen, founders and directors of CYP Palm Harbor. Rabbi Cohen is originally from Columbia, Maryland, and Shayna is from Newtown, Pennsylvania. We moved to Palm Harbor in August 2025 with a shared dream of creating a vibrant, welcoming community for Jewish Professionals in their 20s and 30s across North Pinellas County.
We’re passionate about bringing people together — through Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, professional development seminars, networking and social events, and meaningful learning opportunities — to connect, grow, and celebrate Jewish life in a warm, authentic way.

I moved to Pinellas County with my wife a couple weeks after our wedding from Miami, FL. My wife and I were searching for a young Jewish community in the area, as we had no connections to the area. We met Rabbi Cohen and his wife Shayna at the synagogue, where they then informed us of a CYP dinner. We have been attending the events ever since! It has been a blessing to meet such kind hearted and welcoming people and feel part of a community away from home.
When I moved here from Chicago, I was nervous about finding other young Jews I could connect with. But from the moment I joined CYP, I knew I’d found my people. The Judaism here is so alive and real, I feel more connected than ever before. I’ve made such meaningful friendships, and the events are not only inspiring,but so much fun. I’m so grateful to have found a community that truly feels like home.
Being part of Chabad Young Professionals has reminded me what real community feels like. It’s a place to connect, learn, and strengthen who we are together. In a time when the world can feel uncertain, especially for Jewish people, it has become an anchor, a place to belong, feel supported, and grow both personally and spiritually. It brings people together in a way that makes the world feel smaller and more connected, reminding us that we’re all part of something bigger. Every event feels genuine and purposeful, built around learning, growth, and a shared sense of unity.
